Tree Tag

Greetings viewers, and welcome to StarCuu's Wc3 Map Review Blog. Quite the mouthful, but you'll get used to it. Anyways, this is the first review and I will be reviewing an old classic map, Tree Tag.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       TREE   TAG

The Minimap Preview of Tree Tag

Okay, so Tree Tag is a 12 player map in which one large team of small, innocent, living trees runs away from giant fire golems. It's all fun and games really, but I am here to talk about each side, and what is good about them.

                                                                              ENTS

Ents are the living trees of the forest, which are under seige by 1-3 fire giants, depending on the ammount of players. The max number of ents being 9, you can easily outnumber them. But, since Fire has always beaten Trees, they aren't able to attack quite easily. Anyways, the ents have brilliant ways of scouting by putting cute little owls on top of trees! Personally, I mass these cute owls all over my base so I can always see my enemy. Also, the ents have the ability to teleport, turns invisible, and invulnerable. Unfortunately, becoming invisible doesn't help much, as the fire giants, also called infernals, can get a Gem of True Sight, which blows your cover. Also, the ent can eat other non-living trees in order to make a hiding spot in this great forest. But, the ent can also regrow them, so don't worry about getting caught.

Now, for some odd reason, the ents can build structures out of acorns and "Tree dollars". I do not care much for the details of such odd things though, so lets get down to business. In order to get more Acorns and Tree Dollars, you have to build 'Resource Farms' which give you income every few seconds. These can also be upgraded into larger farms, which give more money.

Ents are not alone though! They can also build these odd looking buildings, which appear to be similar to a barracks in some way shape or form! From this wonderful place they can build catapults, tree warriors, and water elementals to attack the infernals! Not enough? Well the barracks can upgrade into a larger version of itself, allowing you to train Tanks, Giant Water Elementals, and even a freakin' hippy.

Sadly, if you join a Tree Tag everyone wants to be Ent... Most people dislike the infernals, which is what I'm talking about next...

                                                                   INFERNALS

Now that we've passed the tiny trees of the forest, it's time for the Infernals!! Anyways, what else would you expect from a giant golem of fire? He's strong, bulky, and slow. But, there are two kinds of Infernals (I will get more on that later) but for the sake of saving time, let's talk about stuff the infernal can buy!

There are actually 5 stores the infernal can buy items from. Some helpful things infernals can buy are Gems Of True Sight, Landmines, Skeleton Lumberjacks, Skeleton Archers, Crystal Balls, and many more depending on your strategy. Anyways, as an Infernal you just have to go around with your buddies and kill all the ents. Beware, as ents can bring other ents back to life if they reach the middle fast enough. Now, let's move onto the 2 types of infernals.

                                                                        BLAZE

There may not be a picture for such a powerful Infernal, being the better out of the two, but he is focused on non-magical abilities, countering all those Ents magic necklace's into oblivion. Anyways, here's a rundown on his spells.

Summon Hawk: Summons a hawk to scout the map for Blaze, this Hawk can see invisible units, and can attack in further levels.

Death Ray: This is a glorious spell which sends a beam of death out in a direction, damaging anything that gets stuck in it's path. This works GREAT for destroying farms.

Hex: Turns the already weak trees into weaker animals such as frogs, rabbits or deer. The target cannot use spells furing this time.

Volcano: Oh yes, the volcano. This is one of the best spells on Blaze's ability list... It destroys everything in the area targeted, even trees.

Avatar: Meh, Useful, but there are better spells. It gives you bonus HP, Armor, Attack, and makes you Spell Immune for a minute or two.

                                                                           PYRA

Okay, here's Pyra, easily recongized by the skull he has on his blue-ish head. He isn't as great as Blaze when it comes to killing ents, but killing bases is another story. Anyways, he is screwed when it comes to killing ents with Magic Necklaces, but here are his spells.

Summon Hawk: Really just the same as Blaze's, look up if you forgot.

Lightning Trap: Summons an invisible lightning trap which attacks anything that comes too close. Best use near the middle.

Nuclear Explosion: Yes, Pyra gets a nuke. But, if an ent has a Magic Necklace, nothing happens to them... Minus a crap load of building missing.

Transmute: Instantly turns the target into Tree Dollars, killing them, and giving you money.

Starfall: You stand completely still while anything close to you gets a meteor or two to the head. Sounds useful, but isn't.

So, Tree Tag is a fun game, and I hope everyone who plays it enjoys it very much.

         Tree Tag: 5/5
